Les Amis de Mont-Tremblant is a non-profit organization (NPO) committed to protecting the confidentiality and security of the Personal Information (PI) we collect.

This Privacy Policy describes, in clear and simple terms (in accordance with Law 25), how we collect, use, communicate, and protect your Personal Information.

This policy should be read in conjunction with our Terms of Service, which govern the overall rules and responsibilities for using our website and services.

Law 25 requires the appointment of a Person Responsible for the Protection of Personal Information (PRPI). This person ensures our organization’s compliance and answers your questions.

3. Personal Information We Collect

We only collect Personal Information necessary to achieve our objectives. This PI includes, but is not limited to:

    • Identification Information: Last name, first name.
    • Contact Information: Mailing address, email, phone number.
    • Financial Support Information: Donation history, donor status, payment information (not stored by us).
    • Communication Information: Newsletter subscription preferences, correspondence with us.
    • Technical Information (via our website): IP address, browser type, pages visited, cookies.

4. How and Why (Purposes) We Collect Your PI

We use your Personal Information for the following purposes:

    • Donation and Support Management: To process your donations and maintain an up-to-date record of your support.
    • Communication: To send you news about our projects, event invitations, calls to action, and our newsletter.
    • Operations: To manage our volunteer lists and organize our activities and events.
    • Website Improvement: To analyze the use of our site to improve its content and functionality.
    • Legal Obligations: To comply with our legal and regulatory obligations (e.g., financial records).

We will not use your PI for other purposes without obtaining your prior consent.

5. Consent

We obtain your consent before collecting or using your Personal Information, except where permitted by law. This consent must be manifest, free, informed, and given for specific purposes.

Withdrawal of Consent: You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal restrictions. For any withdrawal, please contact our PRPI.

6. Children’s Information

In accordance with Law 25, we do not knowingly collect the Personal Information of children under the age of fourteen (14) without the consent of the person holding parental authority or the legal guardian. If you believe a child under 14 has provided us with PI without this consent, please contact our PRPI immediately.

7. Sharing and Communication of Your PI

We do not sell, rent, or share your PI with third parties for marketing purposes.

We only communicate your PI to the following individuals and entities, when necessary:

    • Service Providers: To assist us in our operations (payment processors, email platforms, website hosts). Our agreements include a written agreement that guarantees the protection of your PI.
    • Legal Authorities: If required by law or compelled by a court order.

8. Communication of PI Outside Quebec

It is possible that some of our service providers may host your Personal Information outside Quebec.

In accordance with Law 25, we conduct a Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) before communicating PI outside Quebec. We ensure that this information benefits from adequate protection.

9. Retention Period and Destruction

We retain your PI only as long as necessary to achieve the purposes for which it was collected, or to comply with our legal obligations.

10. Security Measures and Governance

We have implemented physical, administrative, and technological security measures to protect your PI. These measures are formalized within our internal governance policies and practices.

11. Automated Processing

Please note that Les Amis de Mont-Tremblant does not use automated processing technology for making decisions based exclusively on your personal information.

12. Your Rights Regarding Your PI

In accordance with Law 25, you have the following rights. To exercise these rights, please address a written request to our PRPI (see section 2):

    • Right of Access and Rectification
    • Right to Withdraw Consent
    • Right to Portability (structured technological format)
    • Right to Erasure (Right to be Forgotten)

We will respond to your request within 30 days.

13. Cookies

Our website uses cookies. A banner will ask for your consent for the use of non-essential cookies.

14. Complaints and Recourse

If you believe we have not met our obligations, we invite you to contact our PRPI first (see section 2).

If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to file a complaint with:
