False urgency: He admitted that the May 29 meeting was not urgent and maintained that extraordinary meetings would be reserved for cases of force majeure (unforeseen emergencies).
Right to know and accessibility: He recognized citizens’ right to know the motives behind meetings in advance and committed to making these sessions accessible through virtual broadcasts and recordings.
The excuse: He claimed the Urbanism department had suggested this quick format simply out of habit inherited from the previous administration.
The reality: Exactly 10 days later, the Ville is doing it again. Tomorrow morning’s meeting violates every single commitment made by the mayor on June 8.
