It has been brought to our attention that people on our mailing list received an email regarding the election from Jean-Luc Trahan, elected Councillor for District 1 and President of Les Amis until September 2024, and that this was done without their consent.
Les Amis is a non-partisan group. We have never authorized the use of our supporters’ email addresses, nor have we shared our list with anyone. Mr. Trahan informed us that these addresses came from his personal contact list, although some may have been collected during his time at our non-profit organization. We regret this situation, which is beyond our control.
We take the confidentiality of personal information very seriously. We have therefore appointed a Data Protection Officer (DPO) and conducted an audit of our data security systems.
