Bill 31: Councilors Élise Léonard and Mathieu Paquette reiterated their opposition to the Ville’s use of Bill 31 for a 28-unit project on Rue Labelle. This law allows the Municipal Council to bypass its own urban planning bylaws—particularly regarding zoning, density, and height—to authorize non-compliant projects, while limiting public participation by removing the referendum approval process.
Village Public Consultation (New Time): A presentation of the strategic vision for the Village will take place on Friday, April 10 at 7:00 p.m. at the Village Church. Pre-registration is required (online form coming soon). The Ville is considering using Bill 31 to amend the zoning of certain single-family (H-1) streets to allow for greater density. The use of this law would allow the Ville to impose these zoning changes without the affected residents being able to exercise their right to referendum approval.
Urban Planning Department: The Ville announced the return of Louis-Martin Levac as Interim Director of Urban Planning, filling the vacancy left by Geneviève Demers’ departure in May 2025. Mr. Levac, who headed this department until June 2020, is a senior official at City Hall who has led projects such as Pinacle, Manitonga, Château Morritt, Indigo, and LAGO.
Urban Planning Program Overhaul: Following the adoption of a first draft plan in April 2025, the Ville is currently undergoing a revision and correction period for bylaws. During the week of April 13, the Ville will begin the official filing of draft bylaws for public consultation. Click here for more details on the process.
Bell Mobility Cell Tower: The Ville is finalizing a study on solutions to address the dire need for a cell tower in Mont-Tremblant. The Mayor specified that legal and other verifications remain to be conducted as part of the selection and oversight process for this project.
Chalet Charlie (1850 Chemin du Village): The potential buyer has withdrawn, and the Ville is still attempting to sell Chalet Charlie. The properties located at 1885-1887 Chemin du Village, also owned by the Ville, remain for sale as well.
