As the tabling of the 2026 budget approaches, we have formally expressed our concerns to the municipal council, emphasizing the importance of rigorous planning and greater transparency. Our message is clear: the Ville must not authorize large-scale projects without thoroughly assessing their impact on the community.
In this letter, we ask the Ville to incorporate the following elements into the 2026 budget, which is scheduled for adoption on January 29 at City Hall:
Funding for two priority analyses: Allocate the necessary funds to conduct a comprehensive traffic study and to produce a development map compiling zoning and capacity data by sector.
A preventative moratorium: Suspend all development on land belonging to the Ville de Mont-Tremblant and any projects involving the municipal budget, pending the results of these studies.
Tax relief: Reduce the tax burden on taxpayers by taking into account the $49.7 million surplus accumulated between 2018 and 2024.
To learn more about our recommendations and understand the issues that guide our actions, we invite you to consult the letter we sent to the Ville.
