The News: On February 27, the Ville issued a permit to developer Placements Jeannot Clément Inc. for work on the shoreline of the rivière du Diable, located at 555, chemin du Lac-Gauthier.
The Problem: The official certificate issued by the municipality specifically names and authorizes the company KCS Inc. to carry out this work, displaying an RBQ licence number that is actually invalid and has been expired since September 10, 2024.
Our View: To maintain public trust and protect our sensitive natural environments, the Ville must lead by example. Ensuring the validity of a licence before officially naming and authorizing a contractor on a permit is a basic matter of diligence and sound management.
